Cookies
A convenient Georgian snack, walnut and honey cookies are made by slicing and quickly baking walnut-and-honey dough that was prepared, rolled, and frozen ahead of time. Using make-ahead dough gets these cookies to the table in under 15 minutes.
Slice the dough, which was kneaded the night before with flour, walnuts, honey, butter, and cinnamon, rolled into a log, and firmed up in the freezer, into half-centimeter-thick rounds.
Arrange the slices on a baking sheet with space between them. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then serve.
If the dough has not firmed up enough, leave it in the freezer for a few more minutes before slicing; otherwise, the slices may fall apart. Contains allergens: wheat (gluten), tree nuts (walnuts), and milk (butter).
