Whole-wheat flour, mashed banana, and egg are mixed into a dough, cut into thin sticks, and baked in 2 stages to make firm, sturdy teething biscuits for teething babies. With no added sweetener, salt, or dairy, this recipe can be made in a large batch and packed for family outings.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the dough

10 min

Mix the mashed banana with the egg and oil. Add the whole-wheat flour and work it into a firm dough, adding water gradually as needed.

2

Cut into sticks

10 min

Roll the dough out to 1 centimeter thick and cut it into finger-length sticks.

3

First bake

20 min

Bake the sticks in an oven preheated to 160°C / 320°F for 20 minutes.

4

Second bake

15 min

Turn off the oven and leave the sticks inside for another 15 minutes with the door slightly ajar. This second drying stage helps the rusks firm up.

Reminder

Always supervise babies under 1 year old while they eat these rusks. Do not break off large pieces to feed them, as they may pose a choking risk. Allergens: gluten (whole-wheat flour) and egg.
