These sesame rings are a homemade version of a classic bakery favorite. Whole-wheat dough is dipped in grape molasses water, coated with sesame seeds, and cooked in an air fryer.
Dissolve the fresh yeast in warm water, combine it with the flour and salt, and knead until the dough is elastic.
Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into pieces and roll each into a rope. Join the ends to form a ring.
Mix the grape molasses with a little water and quickly dip the rings in it. Then dip them in sesame seeds to coat.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C / 355°F, arrange the rings in the basket, and cook for 10 minutes. If you do not have an air fryer, bake them in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 15 minutes.
Do not leave the rings in the grape molasses water for long, or the dough may get soggy and lose its shape. Contains allergens: wheat (gluten) and sesame.
