Pastries and dough-based dishes
These savory Turkish buns are filled with hard-boiled eggs and Kashar cheese, making them a hearty breakfast favorite. The yogurt dough gives them a soft texture, and they can be served warm or cold.
Combine the yogurt, fresh yeast, sugar, cooking oil, salt, and flour, and knead into a soft dough.
Cover the dough and let it proof in a warm place until doubled in size.
Finely chop the hard-boiled eggs and mix them with the grated Kashar cheese and parsley.
Pinch off pieces of dough and roll them into rounds. Place some filling in the center of each, seal the dough around it, and shape into buns.
Brush the tops with egg yolk. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F until golden.
Important: Finely chop the eggs and do not make the filling too wet, or the dough will soften and become difficult to shape. Allergens: Contains wheat (gluten), eggs, and milk/dairy.
