Warming

warming · ı-lıt-ma

soğuk malzemeyi hafifçe ısıtma

Warming is raising an ingredient's temperature only slightly to make it lukewarm, without boiling or fully cooking it. It is often used to increase the fluidity of ingredients such as milk, honey, or oil, or to revive dough yeast. The difference from reheating is that the target temperature is kept quite low.

Where It's Used

“To activate the yeast, warm the milk until it feels just warm to the fingertip.”
