Skimmer (kevgir) is a long-handled kitchen tool with a wide, perforated surface used to strain solid pieces out of a liquid. It's used to lift boiled dough dishes and vegetables out of water or to skim foam. Its difference from a strainer is that it's shaped like a spoon and used with one hand.
