Almond flour replaces the flour in traditional Turkish savory buns in this quick recipe that needs no proving. With a cheese filling and low calorie content, they make a breakfast option for those following a ketogenic diet.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the dough

8 min

Whisk 1 egg with the olive oil and salt in a bowl. Add the almond flour and baking powder and knead into a soft dough.

2

Fill the buns

7 min

Pinch off small pieces of dough, fill with crumbled white brined cheese and roll into balls. Arrange on a tray lined with parchment paper.

3

Brush and bake

25 min

Beat the remaining egg and brush over the buns. Sprinkle with nigella seeds and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 25 minutes, until golden.

Reminder

Almond flour dough is more fragile than conventional flour dough, so avoid pressing too hard when shaping the buns. Allergens: contains nuts (almonds), milk and dairy products, and egg.
