Cook the Pasta
10 minCook the rotini in boiling salted water according to the package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
An essential side at South African braais, this pasta salad is made with corn and peppers that pick up a smoky flavor on the grill. Served cold, it can be prepared before the barbecue and easily shared as a snack.
Cook the rotini in boiling salted water according to the package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
Lightly oil the corn, red bell pepper, and beef sucuk. Grill for 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until smoky and the corn kernels are lightly charred.
Cut the corn kernels off the cob. Chop the pepper and sucuk, then mix with the pasta, red onion, mayonnaise, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Serve cold.
Lightly oil the corn and pepper before grilling; otherwise, their skins may dry out and become tough before they are mixed into the pasta. Rinse the pasta with cold water after cooking; hot pasta can melt the mayonnaise and make the salad watery. Allergen: contains wheat (gluten) and egg (mayonnaise).
