This sauce combines mango and onion lightly roasted in an air fryer with hot pepper and lemon juice, bringing Brazil’s sweet-and-spicy street-food flavors to a portable jar. Serve it with grilled meats or chips at a picnic.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roast the Mango and Onion

12 min

Toss the mango and onion slices with olive oil and arrange them in the air fryer basket. Cook at 190°C / 375°F for 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly charred. If you do not have an air fryer, roast them in an oven at the same temperature for 12 minutes.

2

Chop and Mix

10 min

Chop the roasted mango and onion into small pieces and place them in a bowl.

3

Season and Rest

10 min

Add the hot pepper, lemon juice, and salt. Stir and let rest for 10 minutes.

4

Serve with Cilantro

5 min

Sprinkle the sauce with cilantro, transfer it to a jar, and serve.

Reminder

Do not choose an overly ripe mango; a slightly firm one will roast in the air fryer without falling apart. Prepare the sauce 1 day in advance so the flavors have more time to meld.

Mangonun airfryer'da hafifçe kavrulması tatlılığını yoğunlaştırmış, acı biberle birlikte gerçekten dengeli bir sos oldu.
