A light Turkish breakfast pastry made by mixing grated carrot into an olive oil-based dough, shaping it into small balls, and baking them. Its olive oil-based dough makes it a low-calorie breakfast option.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix the dough

10 min

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Mix in the olive oil, grated carrot, flour, and salt to make a soft dough.

2

Shape the rolls

5 min

Shape the dough into small balls and arrange them with space between each on a baking sheet. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

3

Bake

20 min

Bake in a preheated 190°C / 375°F oven for 20 minutes, until golden.

Reminder

Squeeze some of the excess moisture from the grated carrot, or the dough may be too wet. Contains wheat (gluten).
