A soft-textured jam made by cooking peeled or unpeeled nectarines in pieces. Nectarines resemble peaches but have smooth skin. This jam preserves the sweetness of summer fruit and adds a bright color to the breakfast table.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the nectarines

15 min

Wash and pit the nectarines, then cut them into small cubes with the skins on.

2

Let the fruit stand with sugar

10 min

Toss the chopped nectarines with the sugar, cover, and let stand for at least two hours.

3

Boil the mixture

25 min

Bring the mixture to a boil in a wide pot over medium heat. Skim off any foam from the surface.

4

Finish the jam and fill the jars

10 min

Add the lemon juice and boil for a few more minutes, until the jam thickens. Important: Test the consistency by dropping some onto a plate and checking whether it leaves a trail. While still boiling, pour it into sterilized jars and seal.

Reminder

Important: Unlike peaches, nectarines have thin, fuzz-free skin, so you can leave it on if you like. Contains no flour, milk, or eggs; it is plant-based and gluten-free. Fill sterilized jars with the boiling jam and store them in a cool, dark place.
