Cream the butter
15 minBeat the room-temperature butter with the powdered sugar until pale. Add the egg and orange zest and mix.
Clove powder and orange zest are mixed into buttery dough to make these cookies. Because they bake on a large sheet pan, there are plenty for a crowd or lunchboxes. Their spiced citrus flavor gives classic Turkish flour cookies a different twist.
Beat the room-temperature butter with the powdered sugar until pale. Add the egg and orange zest and mix.
Mix the flour, ground cloves, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add them to the butter mixture and knead into a soft dough.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it to rest.
Pinch off pieces of dough about 3 cm in diameter and roll them into balls. Arrange them spaced apart on a baking sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 170°C / 340°F until the edges are lightly golden.
Do not shape the dough before letting it rest; warm dough will spread in the oven and the cookie edges will stick together. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), dairy, and egg.
Kırk dakikalık dinlendirmeyi atlayıp yirmi dakika sonra aceleyle şekillendirdim, kurabiyeler fırında biraz yayılıp kenarları birbirine değdi ama tat gayet güzeldi, bir dahaki sefere tarifte yazan süreyi tam uygulayacağım.
