A summer favorite in Colombia’s coastal cities, cholado is made by layering crushed ice with fresh fruit, syrup, and sweetened condensed milk. Served in glasses at parties, this colorful dessert is a refreshing classic for hot days.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the fruit

10 min

Chop the strawberries, banana, and pineapple into small pieces and mix them in a bowl.

2

Prepare the syrup

5 min

Mix the fruit syrup with the lemon juice.

3

Crush the ice

10 min

Pulse the ice in a blender or ice crusher until it has a fine, snowlike texture.

4

Layer and chill

10 min

Fill glasses with crushed ice and layer the fruit and syrup on top. Place them in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving.

5

Serve

3 min

Drizzle with sweetened condensed milk and serve immediately.

Reminder

If you crush the ice too much, it will melt into a watery texture. Pulse it briefly, leaving coarse pieces. Allergen: contains dairy (sweetened condensed milk).

Yoğunlaştırılmış süt yerine editör notundaki gibi hindistan cevizi sütü kullandım, hem daha hafif oldu hem de tropik bir tat kattı. Ananas yerine mango da denedim, rengi daha canlı çıktı.
