One of Cuba’s best-loved desserts, flan is made by blending cream cheese with milk and eggs, then baking the mixture in a caramel-coated mold in a water bath. Cream cheese gives this Cuban variation a richer texture than classic custard.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the Caramel

8 min

Melt the sugar in a saucepan and cook until dark amber. Pour it into the bottom of the mold.

2

Make the Custard Mixture

5 min

Blend the cream cheese, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.

3

Bake

40 min

Pour the mixture into the mold and bake in a water bath in an oven preheated to 160°C / 320°F for 40 minutes.

4

Cool and Serve

180 min

Once cool, refrigerate for at least 3 hours, then invert to serve.

Reminder

After pouring in the caramel, immediately tilt the mold to spread it evenly over the bottom; otherwise, it may harden in one spot as it cooks. Allergens: Contains milk and dairy products, and egg.

Karameli koyu kehribar rengine getirmek yerine biraz erken aldım, tatlının üzerinde açık renkli kaldı ama tadı yine de güzeldi. Benmaride 40 dakika yerine 48 dakika pişirince ortası tam kıvamına geldi.
