These oat cookies rely on dates for natural sweetness, with no added sweetener. They suit many occasions, from breakfast and lunchboxes to late-night snacks and brunch, and are a low-calorie snack suitable for frequent enjoyment.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Soften the Dates

15 min

Soak the dates in hot water for 15 minutes, then drain and mash with a fork until smooth.

2

Make the Mixture

10 min

Mix the mashed dates with the mashed banana, oats, cinnamon, walnuts, and baking powder to make a sticky dough.

3

Shape the cookies

10 min

Take tablespoon-sized portions of dough, flatten them slightly, and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4

Bake

20 min

Bake in an oven preheated to 170°C / 340°F for 20 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Leave the cookies to cool on the baking sheet.

Reminder

Soak the dates in hot water for at least 15 minutes so they soften enough to mash smoothly; otherwise, the mixture will not become smooth. Allergen: contains whole grains (gluten).
