Ember-cooked eggs are a quick barbecue dish made by wrapping uncracked eggs in aluminum foil and placing them beside hot embers to cook. They are served without dairy or added oil, relying on the eggs alone.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Wrap the eggs

5 min

Wrap each uncracked egg tightly in two layers of aluminum foil.

2

Bury in the embers

10 min

Nestle the wrapped eggs beside the hot embers and cook for 10 minutes, turning occasionally.

3

Serve

3 min

Remove the eggs from the embers with tongs and unwrap them. Peel and serve with salt and black pepper.

Reminder

Always use tongs to remove the eggs from the embers. The foil will be very hot and can cause burns if handled with bare hands. Allergen: contains eggs.
