This porridge is a softened version of traditional Georgian cornmeal porridge, made by slowly simmering cornmeal with water and milk while stirring constantly. Its smooth texture is ideal for babies just starting spoon-fed foods.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix the cornmeal with water

5 min

Whisk the cornmeal with cold water until smooth and free of lumps.

2

Bring to a simmer and cook

30 min

Transfer the mixture to a saucepan. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring constantly, until the cornmeal is fully cooked and soft.

3

Add milk and adjust the texture

5 min

Gradually add the milk, stirring until the porridge reaches a consistency suitable for a baby.

4

Serve

5 min

Let the porridge cool until lukewarm, transfer it to a bowl, and serve.

Reminder

Stir the porridge constantly as it cooks. If left unattended, it can stick to the bottom of the pot and become lumpy. Contains milk.

Lapa gerçekten pürüzsüz oldu, bebeğim ilk kaşıkla yemeye başladığında hiç zorlanmadı ve kâsesini bitirdi.
