Pear slices are lightly roasted in an air fryer and combined with ginger syrup to make this warm winter drink inspired by British tearooms. Air-frying concentrates the fruit’s sugars, while the ginger syrup adds an invigorating warmth.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roast the pears

12 min

Arrange the thinly sliced pears in a single layer in the air fryer basket and roast at 180°C / 355°F for 12 minutes. If you do not have an air fryer, roast them in the oven at the same temperature for 12 minutes.

2

Make the syrup

10 min

Put the grated ginger, granulated sugar, cinnamon stick and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and continue to boil gently for 8 minutes.

3

Leave to infuse

5 min

Turn off the heat, add the lemon slices and leave the syrup to infuse for 5 minutes, allowing the ginger to release its flavor into the liquid.

4

Serve

3 min

Strain the syrup into glasses, add the roasted pear slices and serve hot.

Reminder

If you do not have an air fryer, roast the pear slices in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 12 minutes. Do not leave the pan unattended while boiling the syrup, as the ginger can make it foam and boil over.

Airfryer'da 12 dakika kavurmak benim armutlarım için biraz azdı, dilimler hâlâ diriydi; süreyi birkaç dakika uzatsam kenarları fazla kurutur muyum acaba? Ayrıca zencefili rendelemek yerine ince dilimleseydim şurubun aroması nasıl değişirdi merak ediyorum.

Zencefilli şurubu tam kıvamında oldu, armutların kavrulmuş tadı sıcak içeceğe hoş bir derinlik kattı.
