Prepare the fruit
10 minDice the apples, halve the grapes, and remove the pomegranate seeds.
This tart fruit drink uses leftover apples, grapes, and pomegranate steeped in a lemon syrup, reducing waste while adding a colorful beverage to the party table. As the fresh fruit cools in the warm syrup, it releases its natural sweetness.
Dice the apples, halve the grapes, and remove the pomegranate seeds.
Bring the granulated sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan. Boil for 5 more minutes, then add the lemon juice.
Add the prepared fruit to the hot syrup, remove the saucepan from the heat, and let it steep for 15 minutes.
Strain the drink into ice-filled glasses, garnish with a mint leaf, and serve right away.
Stay by the saucepan while the syrup boils; once the sugar dissolves and the mixture foams, it may boil over. Riper fruit will make the drink sweeter, and you can adjust the tartness with the amount of lemon juice.
