Gorditas are a Mexican street food made with thick dough mixed from corn flour and baking powder, split open, and filled with cheese and ground beef. Air frying uses less oil than traditional frying.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the Dough

12 min

Mix the masa harina, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the hot water and knead into a smooth dough. Divide it into 8 pieces and roll them into balls.

2

Cook the Filling

10 min

Cook the onion in oil until softened. Add the ground beef and cook for 8 minutes, until the liquid evaporates. Stir in the cumin.

3

Fill the Gorditas

13 min

Press the dough balls into thick disks and lightly brown both sides in a skillet. Cut each disk through the middle to make a pocket, fill with the ground beef and kashar cheese, and seal the edges tightly.

4

Cook in the Air Fryer

10 min

Arrange the filled gorditas in a preheated air fryer basket and cook at 190°C / 375°F for 10 minutes, until the kashar melts and the outside is crisp. If you do not have an air fryer, bake in an oven preheated to 190°C / 375°F for the same amount of time.

Reminder

Seal the edges well when shaping the dough into pockets or the filling may spill out in the air fryer. Allergen: Contains milk/dairy.

Cebi doldururken kenarlarını iyi kapatmadım, airfryer'da 10 dakika pişerken kaşar sepete akıp yandı, tadı fena değildi ama görüntüsü dağınık oldu, ikinci denemede kenarları parmağımla bastıra bastıra kapattım ve sorun kalmadı.
