This light snack is made by grilling halved pears until lightly caramelized and pan-toasting leftover bulgur pilaf into a crisp crumble. It needs no added oil or sweetener, and makes a whole-grain, heart-friendly treat that falls between dessert and a snack.
Brush the cut sides of the halved pears with lemon juice.
Toast the leftover bulgur pilaf with the cinnamon in a dry skillet, stirring constantly, for 8 minutes, until crisp. Set aside.
Place the pears cut-side down on a grill over medium heat and cook for 9 minutes, until the edges are lightly caramelized.
Transfer the grilled pears to a plate, sprinkle with the toasted bulgur crumble, drizzle with honey, and serve.
Do not choose very ripe pears, or they may fall apart on the grill. Stir the bulgur constantly as it toasts so it browns evenly and does not burn. Allergen: contains wheat (gluten).
Elimde artan bulgur pilavı yoktu, editör notundaki gibi iki avuç çiğ bulguru haşlayıp süzdüm ve 10 dakika fazladan ayırdım; kıtırlığı gerçekten aynı çıktı, denemeye değdi.
