10 minWash the quince, remove the core, and cut it into 1-centimeter-thick slices. Coat the slices with lemon juice to keep them from browning.
Quince slices are lightly grilled until softened, then drizzled with honey and cinnamon for a simple Greek garden-table dessert. Free of dairy and tree nuts, this recipe lets the fruit’s own sweetness shine and can be packed in a jar for a lunchbox.
Wash the quince, remove the core, and cut it into 1-centimeter-thick slices. Coat the slices with lemon juice to keep them from browning.
Brush the slices with a little olive oil and grill over high heat for 6 minutes per side, until lightly browned.
Transfer the slices from the grill to a plate and let them rest for 3 minutes; the quince will continue to soften inside.
Drizzle the warm quince slices with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon. If desired, transfer them to a jar for serving.
Before grilling, slice the quince thinly and coat it in lemon juice, or the cut surfaces will brown quickly. The fruit contains no dairy or tree nuts, so it can be served to guests avoiding lactose or tree nuts.
Dilimleri 1 santim kalınlığında kestim ama ızgarada 6'şar dakika yetmedi, kenarları yanmadan ortası sertliğini korudu; bir dahaki sefere dilimleri biraz daha ince kesip süreyi kısaltacağım.
