Brew the tea

A popular drink in Pakistan and across South Asia, karak tea is made by boiling black tea with milk, cardamom and ginger until frothy. Its rich, spicy flavor makes it a welcome drink any time of day.
Bring the water to a boil, then add the black tea, cardamom pods and ginger. Boil over medium heat for 4–5 minutes.
Add the milk and sugar.
Boil over medium heat for 5–6 minutes, until frothy. Watch the pot to keep it from boiling over.
Strain and serve hot.
