Simmer the apricots
25 minSimmer the dried apricots in sugar water over low heat until tender but still intact.
A light, refreshing dessert from Malatya, made by simmering dried apricots in sugar water until tender, then filling them with kaymak and walnuts. Served chilled, it brings together the apricots’ natural sweetness and kaymak’s creamy texture.
Simmer the dried apricots in sugar water over low heat until tender but still intact.
Drain the apricots and leave them to cool completely.
Make a small slit in one side of each apricot and fill it with kaymak.
Sprinkle the stuffed apricots with chopped walnuts and serve chilled.
Allergens: contains milk (kaymak) and walnuts. Important: Do not let the apricots boil over as they simmer. If overcooked, they can fall apart and will not hold the kaymak filling, so keep the heat low and check them occasionally.
