Dough made with rolled oats, butter, and pure maple syrup is shaped into small balls and baked into cookies with crisp edges and soft centers. Inspired by Canada’s maple syrup tradition, these cookies travel well in a picnic basket.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix the Dry Ingredients

5 min

In a bowl, mix the rolled oats with the flour, baking soda, and salt.

2

Make the Dough

10 min

Beat the butter and maple syrup until creamy. Add the dry mixture and knead to form a dough.

3

Chill

45 min

Wrap the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for 45 minutes.

4

Shape and Bake

15 min

Roll the dough into small balls and arrange them on a baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 175°C / 345°F for 15 minutes.

Reminder

Do not shape the dough before chilling it; warm dough will spread too much in the oven and turn out thin. Allergens: contains gluten (wheat) and dairy (butter).
