Simmer the Oats in Milk

A popular Moroccan street drink, avena is a thick, cinnamon-spiced mixture made by simmering rolled oats in milk, then blending them with banana and dates. It is safe to drink because it contains no nuts.
Bring the rolled oats and milk to a boil in a pot. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often, until thickened.
Let the cooked oat mixture cool for 10 minutes.
Blend the cooled mixture with the banana, pitted dates, cinnamon, and honey until smooth.
Important: Stir often while simmering the oats, or they may stick to the bottom of the pot and burn. Allergens: gluten (oats) and milk.
