Whole mackerel fillets are marinated with red pepper flakes and spices, wrapped in parchment, and baked. This low-calorie, spicy recipe is easy to scale up for a crowd. Once cooled, leftovers can be packed in a lunchbox as a cold sandwich filling.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Marinate the Fish

20 min

Rub the mackerel fillets well with the red pepper flakes, olive oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic, thyme, and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

2

Prepare the Oven

5 min

Heat the oven to 200°C / 390°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3

Wrap and Bake

20 min

Arrange the marinated fillets in a single layer on the parchment and fold it over them. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the fish is cooked through but still holds together.

Reminder

Do not overlap the fillets on the parchment or the ones in the middle will not cook evenly. Refrigerate cooled leftovers for up to 2 days and serve cold in bread. Allergen: Contains fish (mackerel).

Yirmi dakika pişirme süresi benim fırınımda yetmedi, filetoların en kalın kısmı hafif çiğ kaldı; ayrıca pul biber miktarı ailem için oldukça acı oldu, yarısını kullansam daha dengeli olurdu.
