Pakistani potato paratha is an easy flatbread made by mashing boiled potatoes with cumin and cilantro, stuffing the mixture into dough, and cooking it in a pan with cooking oil. Rolling the filling layer thinly and evenly helps the paratha brown evenly in the pan.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the filling

8 min

Mash the boiled potatoes and mix with the cumin and fresh cilantro.

2

Stuff the dough

12 min

Knead the flour with a little water and divide the dough into balls. Fill each ball with the potato mixture and roll it out thinly.

3

Cook in a pan

18 min

Cook the paratha in cooking oil over medium heat for 18 minutes, until golden on both sides.

Reminder

Roll the filling layer thinly and evenly, since thicker areas may not cook evenly in the pan. Keep the pan over medium heat; high heat may burn the outside while leaving the inside raw. Allergen: contains gluten (flour).

Sıvı yağ yerine tereyağı kullandım, tava kokusu daha zengin oldu ama parathanın kenarları beklediğimden biraz daha hızlı koyulaştı; ateşi biraz kısmam gerekti, yine de sonuç lezzetliydi.
