Lightly coated in cornmeal and fried in hot oil, horse mackerel is served with a tangy onion salad. This traditional coastal dish is quick to prepare and budget-friendly, making it a practical choice for everyday meals.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the onion salad

10 min

Rub the finely sliced onion thoroughly with salt and let it rest for a few minutes. Rinse, then toss with the sumac, pomegranate molasses, and parsley.

2

Coat the fish

5 min

Season the cleaned horse mackerel with salt and coat it in cornmeal. Shake off the excess.

3

Fry in hot oil

10 min

Fry the fish in plenty of hot oil until golden on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

4

Serve

2 min

Serve the hot fish with the onion salad.

Reminder

Important: Make sure the oil is hot enough to keep the fish from absorbing too much oil. Drop in a small piece of bread; if it browns right away, the oil is ready. Allergen: contains fish.
