Shaped by Chinese influence on Indonesian cuisine, pangsit goreng is made by wrapping a ground chicken filling in thin dumpling wrappers and frying them until golden. A favorite at parties and large gatherings, these dumplings are served with sweet-and-sour sauce.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the Filling

10 min

Thoroughly mix the ground chicken, cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt in a bowl.

2

Fill the Dumplings

15 min

Place one 5 ml measure of filling in the center of each wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold into a triangle or pouch shape.

3

Fry the Dumplings

12 min

Heat the cooking oil in a deep skillet. Fry the dumplings in batches until golden, then transfer them to a paper towel.

4

Serve

3 min

Serve hot, with sweet-and-sour sauce or soy sauce on the side.

Reminder

Do not overcrowd the pan while frying the dumplings, or they may stick together and cook unevenly. Allergen: contains gluten (wrappers), soy, and sesame (sesame oil).
