A budget-friendly pide made by mixing boiled, mashed potatoes with kashar cheese and placing the filling inside yeasted pide dough. The soft filling browns lightly in the oven for a satisfying meal. It uses few ingredients and makes an easy dinner.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Let the dough rise

35 min

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water, add it to the flour with the salt, and knead. Cover and let rise for 35 minutes.

2

Prepare the potato filling

10 min

Mash the boiled potatoes thoroughly with a fork and mix with the melted butter, grated kashar cheese, and black pepper.

3

Shape the pide

10 min

Divide the risen dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a thin oval. Fold the edges, then spread the potato filling down the center.

4

Bake

20 min

Bake in a preheated oven until the edges of the dough are browned and the top is lightly golden.

Reminder

Important: If the potatoes are mashed before fully cooked, the filling will be lumpy and may not heat evenly while the pide bakes. Boil them until they are easily mashed with a fork. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) and dairy (kashar cheese).
