Mash the raspberries
3 minMash the raspberries in a bowl with a fork or blend them until smooth.
This brightly colored, refreshing cold drink is made by crushing fresh or frozen raspberries and mixing them with sparkling water. It is a quick, easy option for summer gatherings.
Mash the raspberries in a bowl with a fork or blend them until smooth.
Strain the raspberry puree through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the seeds. Stir the sugar into the remaining liquid.
Add ice to glasses and divide the raspberry syrup among them. Slowly pour in the cold sparkling water and stir gently.
Garnish with mint leaves and serve immediately; the sparkling water will go flat if left to stand.
Important: If using frozen raspberries, thaw them at room temperature first. Very cold fruit may cause excess foaming when mixed with sparkling water. Raspberries contain seeds, so do not skip straining if you want a smooth drink.
