Recipes for children
A nourishing soup made by cooking red lentils with carrots and potatoes, then blending until smooth. Mildly seasoned, it offers a gentle introduction to lentils for children who are not used to them.
Heat the olive oil in a pot and sauté the onion until softened and lightly golden. Add the tomato paste and cook briefly.
Add the rinsed lentils, carrot, and potato to the pot. Pour in enough hot water to cover them.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer over low heat until the lentils and vegetables are completely soft.
Blend the soup until smooth. Add the cumin and salt, bring it back to a boil, and serve.
Important: When blending the soup, do not fill the container more than halfway, and leave the lid slightly open to prevent hot liquid from splashing out. Caution: Make sure the soup has cooled to lukewarm before serving; lentil soups retain heat for a long time. This recipe contains no animal products.
