This baby porridge gives leftover cooked rice another use: simmer it over low heat with milk and vanilla, then mash it into a smooth dish with no added sweetener. The recipe is inspired by a classic Greek rice pudding.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Heat the rice and milk

5 min

Stir the leftover rice and milk together in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

2

Cook over low heat

12 min

Cook over low heat for 12 minutes, stirring often, until the rice grains are very soft and the mixture thickens.

3

Mash and add the vanilla

3 min

Mash the mixture with a fork or blend it until smooth, then add the vanilla. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.

Reminder

Stir often while cooking the porridge over low heat so it does not stick to the bottom of the pot. Allergen: dairy (milk).
