This sorbet is made by cooking apples in a syrup boiled with a cinnamon stick and cloves, blending them into a smooth puree, and freezing the mixture. Warm spices give this classic apple dessert a new twist.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the syrup

10 min

Bring the water, granulated sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves to a boil in a saucepan to make the syrup.

2

Cook the apples

15 min

Add the peeled and chopped apples to the syrup and cook for 15 minutes, until tender.

3

Puree the apples

10 min

Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves. Blend the apples with the lemon juice until smooth, then let the puree cool to room temperature.

4

Freeze

240 min

Pour the puree into a shallow container and place it in the freezer. For the first 2 hours, scrape and stir it with a fork every 30 minutes to prevent crystallization and keep the texture smooth; it will take about 4 hours total to freeze.

Reminder

Do not skip scraping the sorbet during the first 2 hours in the freezer; otherwise, it may set hard with large ice crystals and be difficult to scoop.

4 saat boyunca yarım saatte bir kazımak bende angarya oldu, blender kullansaydım çok daha hızlı olurdu herhalde. Tadı güzeldi ama emek karşılığında fazla iş gibi geldi, bu yüzden üç yıldız.
