Horse mackerel is gently steamed in its own juices with tomatoes, onion, and olive oil for a lighter alternative to fried fish. This budget-friendly coastal dish is an easy choice for everyday meals.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the base

5 min

Drizzle olive oil over the bottom of a skillet and arrange half of the onion rings in it.

2

Arrange the fish

10 min

Place the cleaned horse mackerel over the onions. Season with salt and black pepper, then top with the tomato slices and remaining onion.

3

Steam over low heat

20 min

Cover and cook over low heat in its own juices until the fish and vegetables are tender.

4

Serve

2 min

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Reminder

Stir gently while the fish cooks because horse mackerel can fall apart easily. Contains fish. Avoid opening the pot lid repeatedly; escaping steam can keep the fish from softening in its own juices.

İlk denememde biraz tedirgindim ama sonuç harika oldu. İlk defa yaptığım halde hiç zorlanmadım, adımlar çok netti.
