Coat the Chicken
15 minSeason the chicken slices with salt and black pepper. Dredge them in flour, dip in the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly.
Tori katsu, a favorite Japanese dish among kids, is made by coating thinly sliced chicken breast in breadcrumbs and cooking it in an air fryer, without deep-frying. Serve it with a light green salad.
Season the chicken slices with salt and black pepper. Dredge them in flour, dip in the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly.
Arrange the chicken slices in a single layer in an air fryer basket brushed with olive oil. Cook at 190°C / 375°F for 15 minutes, turning them one time halfway through, until golden. If you do not have an air fryer, cook for the same amount of time in an oven preheated to 190°C / 375°F.
Mix the ketchup and mustard and serve alongside the katsu while hot.
Press the breadcrumbs gently onto the chicken slices as you coat them; otherwise, the coating may fall off during cooking. Allergen: Contains wheat (gluten) and egg.
