An everyday Filipino home-cooking classic, tortang giniling combines ground meat cooked with onion and tomato with eggs, then cooks the mixture in a frying pan. Low in carbohydrates, it also makes a convenient cold lunchbox meal.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Brown the ground meat

15 min

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the onion and crushed garlic cloves until lightly golden. Add the ground meat and cook until it changes color. Add the tomato and keep cooking until it releases its juices and they evaporate.

2

Combine with the eggs

5 min

Let the ground meat mixture cool until lukewarm. Beat the eggs with salt and black pepper, then mix with the lukewarm ground meat.

3

Cook and turn

15 min

Pour the mixture into a clean frying pan and cook over low heat until the underside is set. Turn with the help of a large plate and cook the other side.

Reminder

Use a large, flat plate to help turn the omelet. Trying to flip it directly in the pan may make it break apart. Allergens: contains eggs.

250 gram kıymayla hazırladığım bu omleti bir gün önceden pişirip buzdolabında bekletsem, ertesi gün beslenme çantasına soğuk mu yoksa evden çıkmadan önce ısıtarak mı koymam daha iyi olur?

Kıymayı kavururken 1 domatesin suyunu tam çekmesini beklemeden 4 yumurtayla karıştırdım, sonuç lezzetliydi ama omlet biraz sulu kaldı ve servis ettiğim tabakta hayli fazla su bıraktı.

Tabak yardımıyla çevirmeyi denerken omlet ortadan ikiye bölündü, muhtemelen tavadaki karışım tarifte yazan 15 dakikadan daha az pişmişti ve alt kısmı tam oturmadan çevirmeye kalkışmıştım.
