Rinse and Soak the Dried Fruit
10 minRinse the dried apricots, prunes, and dried apple slices. Soak them in warm water for 10 minutes.
Uzvar is a traditional Ukrainian drink made by gently simmering dried apricots, prunes, and apple with cinnamon and cloves. Served without added sweetener, it is naturally sweet from the fruit.
Rinse the dried apricots, prunes, and dried apple slices. Soak them in warm water for 10 minutes.
Put the fruit in a pot with the cinnamon stick and cloves, add the water, and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer gently until the fruit is soft and fragrant.
Strain the drink and serve warm or cold.
For a more concentrated drink, lightly mash the dried fruit after straining and stir it back into the liquid. Add honey if you prefer a sweeter drink.
