A simple, additive-free alternative to ice cream made by blending watermelon, strawberries and lemon juice, then freezing the mixture in molds. This easy summer snack lets families control how much sugar they add.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the fruit

8 min

Remove the rind and seeds from the watermelon, then cut it and the strawberries into small pieces.

2

Blend

5 min

Blend the fruit with the lemon juice until smooth.

3

Pour into molds

5 min

If desired, stir in the mint, then divide the mixture evenly among the ice pop molds.

4

Freeze

240 min

Insert the sticks into the molds and freeze for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Reminder

Important: Freeze the mixture for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, after pouring it into the molds. If you take the pops out too soon, they may fall apart. Run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds to help release them.
