Assemble the sandwich

Airfryer smoked beef pastırma toast is made by layering slices of smoked beef pastırma and kaşar cheese between bread and crisping it in the airfryer. Ready in under fifteen minutes, it works just as well on a brunch table as it does for a late-night bite.
Butter the outer sides of the bread slices, layer the kaşar and smoked beef pastırma on the inner sides and close the sandwich.
Place the sandwiches in the airfryer basket, pressing down lightly, and cook at 200°C for 8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden on both sides. If you do not have an airfryer, cook on a rack in an oven preheated to 200°C for the same time.
Slice the hot sandwiches diagonally and serve at once.
Press the sandwich down lightly before placing it in the airfryer basket, or the layers will shift apart. Do not overcook; the bread dries out before the cheese fully melts if left too long. Allergens: contains gluten (bread/wheat flour), milk and dairy (kaşar).
Using smoked beef ham instead of smoked beef pastırma gives the toast a milder saltiness; you do not need to change the amount of kaşar.
