Leftover grilled köfte from the day before is sliced, layered with cheese between bread and quickly crisped up in the air fryer. Practical enough to pack in a lunchbox, this sandwich can just as easily be served hot at brunch.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Assemble the Sandwiches

10 min

Layer the sliced köfte, kashkaval cheese and tomato between the bread slices and close them, then spread butter on the outside.

2

Cook in the Air Fryer

8 min

Arrange the sandwiches in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C for 8 minutes, until crisp outside and the cheese melts. If you do not have an air fryer, bake the same sandwiches in an oven preheated to 200°C for 12 minutes.

3

Slice and Serve

2 min

Remove the sandwiches from the air fryer basket, cut them diagonally in half and serve while still hot.

Reminder

Do not stack the sandwiches in the air fryer basket; blocking the airflow keeps the cheese from melting evenly. Allergens: contains gluten (bread), milk and dairy (kashkaval cheese, butter).

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you have no leftover köfte, fresh ones work too, but since you would need to cook them separately first, the prep time runs about 15 minutes longer.
