Churros, a Spanish street food favorite, are made by piping plain dough into long sticks with a piping bag and deep-frying them in hot oil. Coated in cinnamon sugar while still warm, this crisp treat is enjoyed alongside coffee or hot chocolate.
Boil the water, salt, sugar, and vegetable oil, then remove from heat; add the flour and stir until you get a smooth dough that pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip with the cooled dough and pipe 8-10 cm long sticks into hot oil, frying until golden brown.
Drain the fried churros on paper towels and, while still hot, coat them in cinnamon sugar.
Important: Make sure no air is left when filling the piping bag, or the strips can fall apart while frying. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten).
Coating the churros in cinnamon sugar right after frying while still hot makes the sugar stick better and stay fresher.
