A small pastry found in Argentine bakeries, pastelitos are made by filling ready-made puff pastry with quince paste and deep-frying until golden. Served by the trayful at gatherings, they are a handheld treat meant for sharing.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Cut the pastry

5 min

Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 8 small squares.

2

Fill and seal

15 min

Place a spoonful of quince paste in the centre of each square, fold into a triangle and press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.

3

Fry

10 min

Heat the oil in a deep pot and fry the pastelitos for 10 minutes, turning once, until golden on both sides; drain on paper towels and dust with sugar.

Reminder

Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal them, or the quince paste will leak out while frying. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), milk and dairy.

Ayva reçeli yerine kayısı reçeli kullansam 10 dakikalık kızartma süresi değişir mi acaba, yoksa aynı mı kalır? Kenarları çatalla kapatmama rağmen sekiz pastelitonun ikisinde reçel dışarı sızdı, daha mı sıkı bastırmalıyım?
