This lightly nutty plant-based milk alternative is made by blending raw almonds soaked overnight in water, then straining the mixture. It can be used at breakfast or in coffee drinks by people who are sensitive to dairy.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Soak the almonds

480 min

Soak the raw almonds in plenty of water for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.

2

Drain and rinse

5 min

Pour off the soaking water and rinse the almonds with clean water.

3

Blend

5 min

Add the almonds and fresh water to a blender. Blend on high for 2 minutes until smooth.

4

Strain and sweeten

5 min

Strain the mixture through a fine cheesecloth or nut milk bag to separate the pulp. Stir in sugar and salt if desired.

Reminder

Allergen: Contains tree nuts (almonds). Caution: Soak the almonds in water for at least 8 hours before blending; otherwise, straining may yield less milk and the texture may remain grainy.
