Boil the pasta
10 minBoil the pasta in salted water for one minute less than the time stated on the package, then drain.
This version of a comforting British classic combines a creamy sauce made with Kashar cheese (a Turkish semi-hard cheese) and fresh chili pepper, then bakes it until a crust forms. It is a hearty dish for serving from a large tray at parties.
Boil the pasta in salted water for one minute less than the time stated on the package, then drain.
Melt the butter and add the flour. Pour in the milk a little at a time, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Add the kashar cheese and hot pepper to the sauce and stir until melted.
Mix the pasta with the sauce and transfer it to an ovenproof dish. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C / 390°F for fifteen minutes, until a crust forms on top.
Stir continuously while bringing the sauce to a boil; otherwise it will stick to the bottom of the pan and form lumps. Allergens: contains gluten (pasta, flour) and dairy products (milk, kashar cheese).
