A lightly tart, foamy fermented milk drink made by culturing kefir grains in milk at room temperature. This homemade fermentation classic is enjoyed plain at breakfast or as a snack.

How to make it?

Combine the kefir grains and milk

Put the kefir grains in a glass jar, pour in the milk and stir gently with a spoon.

Leave to ferment

Cover the jar opening with a cloth and leave it to ferment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, for 18–24 hours.

Strain and bottle

5 min

Strain the fermented kefir through a plastic sieve to separate the grains. Bottle the kefir and chill it in the refrigerator.

Reminder

Important: Do not let the kefir grains touch metal spoons or sieves; use glass or plastic equipment instead. Allergen: contains milk, a dairy product. People with lactose intolerance should take care before consuming.

Süt yerine badem sütü ile denedim, gayet iyi sonuç verdi. Krema yerine yoğurt kullandım, daha hafif bir sonuç aldım. Tarçın yerine biraz zencefil ekledim, hoş bir fark yarattı.
