Boil the water

This warm winter herbal tea is made by steeping dried linden flowers in hot water. Serve it hot in the afternoon, plain or sweetened with honey and lemon.
Bring the water to a boil, remove it from the heat, and let it rest for a few minutes to cool slightly.
Add the linden flowers to the hot water, cover the teapot, and let steep for 8–10 minutes.
Strain the tea into cups and serve hot with honey and a lemon slice if desired.
Important: Steep the linden flowers in boiled water that has rested briefly, rather than freshly boiling water; otherwise, the tea may darken and develop a harsh aroma. Caution: Do not steep it too long, or it may taste bitter.
