Leftover pieces of fruit from the refrigerator are diced and simmered with sugar to make a large batch of jam. Using different fruits gives the recipe a slightly different flavor each time, and it makes enough for a crowd.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the Fruit

10 min

Dice the leftover fruit and mix it with the sugar and lemon juice in a large saucepan.

2

Let Stand

15 min

Let the mixture stand for 15 minutes so the fruit releases its juices.

3

Simmer

25 min

Simmer over low heat for 25 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened.

4

Jar the Jam

5 min

Fill sterilized jars with the hot jam, turn them upside down, and let them cool.

Reminder

Different fruits soften at different rates, so add firm fruits such as apples a few minutes before the others for even cooking. To check the consistency, place a drop of jam on a cold plate.

Meyve karışımını 25 dakika yerine 20 dakikada kıvama getirdim, tarifte yazan süreden kısa sürdü; meyvelerin olgunluğuna göre süre değişir mi? Şeftalinin tatlılığı elmayla çok iyi dengelendi.
