This refreshing, unsweetened drink is made by boiling water with hot red pepper and ginger, combining it with apple cider vinegar, and letting it steep for an extended time. Pack it in a thermos for a picnic or serve it over ice with late-night snacks.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Boil the spices

5 min

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, add the hot pepper and ginger, and boil for 5 minutes.

2

Add the vinegar

2 min

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Add the apple cider vinegar and stir.

3

Let it steep

90 min

Transfer the mixture to a covered container and let it steep in a cool place for 90 minutes; the extended steeping mellows the sharp flavor.

4

Strain and serve

5 min

Strain the mixture into glasses and serve with fresh mint leaves.

Reminder

Add the apple cider vinegar to warm water after removing it from the heat, not to boiling water; vinegar added to boiling water can leave a sharp, harsh taste.

Taze acı biber bulamadığım için tarifteki 2 adet yerine bir tatlı kaşığı pul biberle denedim, tadı biraz daha donuk çıktı ama yine de içilebilir güzel bir keskinlik verdi, tekrar deneyeceğim.
